Inauguration of Dairy Farm at Mebon Rongsep on International Women’s Day

8th March 2025: After much anticipation and dedicated effort, the dairy farm at Mebon Rongsep was officially inaugurated on the special occasion of International Women's Day by Fr. Barnabas, Secretary of Bishop House, Tura.

The project, funded by the Italian Bishops' Conference, Rome, and implemented by Bakdil, aims to support sustainable livelihood opportunities for the community. The construction includes essential facilities such as a water reservoir and a well-equipped cowshed, ensuring optimal care for the cattle and smooth farm operations.

During the event, Fr. Cyril Sangma, Director & Secretary of Bakdil, engaged with the local community, including cooperative society members and Self-Help Group (SHG) members, to discuss the proper utilization of the farm and explore additional initiatives that could benefit the community.

As part of the Women’s Day celebrations, a medical camp was also organized, where free medicines were distributed, and a demonstration on women's sanitation was conducted to promote health and hygiene awareness.

This initiative marks a significant step toward the women’s empowerment and community development, reinforcing the commitment to sustainable growth and well-being.
