Springshed Based Watershed

The team leader of the NABARD supported project paid a visit to the project site and inspected the newly dug trenches. About 220 nos. of trenches have been done for Bel-Chiga stream. The purpose of these trenches is to capture rainwater and allow it to infiltrate into the ground, replenishing groundwater reserve and recharging springs within the watershed. Furthermore the contour trenches help in the conservation of soil moisture by reducing surface runoff.
